The terms that govern your use of BlurOutAI, the free browser-based image redaction tool.

1. Agreement

By using BlurOutAI ("the Service"), operated at bluroutai.com, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What the Service Is

BlurOutAI provides browser-based tools to blur, pixelate, and redact images. All image processing occurs locally on your device. Images you edit are never uploaded to or stored on our servers.

3. Free Tier and Fair Use

The free tier includes 10 exports per month, tracked locally in your browser. You agree not to circumvent the quota mechanism or use automated means to abuse the Service. We may adjust free-tier limits with notice on the site.

4. Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for the images you process and share. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes, including but not limited to:

  • Protecting your own privacy or the privacy of others who have consented
  • Redacting sensitive information you are authorized to handle

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Process images you have no right to possess or distribute
  • Facilitate harassment, doxxing, or evasion of lawful identification requirements
  • Violate any applicable law, including copyright, privacy, and publicity rights

Redaction is not anonymization for legal purposes. You remain responsible for ensuring your use complies with laws applicable to you (such as GDPR, CCPA, or HIPAA) — BlurOutAI is a tool, not legal advice.

5. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to images you process — we never claim ownership, and since images never reach our servers, we could not use them even if we wanted to. The Service itself (code, design, branding) is our property and may not be copied or resold.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI face detection will find every face in every image. Always review the output before sharing.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BlurOutAI and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, profits, or goodwill — arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, for free users, is zero).

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BlurOutAI from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

9. Modifications

We may modify the Service or these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced on the site with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Delaware.
